Awning Manufacturers and Installation
A good awning professional can provide useful
information about designs or fabrics.
When choosing a manufacturer ask for references. Demand
experience: ask for similar works they have done. Pay a visit to
their showroom, if they have one or if possible. In the United States look for members
of the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA),
and if the fabrics question is important to you, see if the
manufacturer has a certification from the
Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI).
There are literally thousands of awning manufacturers. For
addresses in USA, see PAMA.
For local firms in your region, try the box below. Add
your region name (Alabama, Australia, whatever...).
Warranty
In most cases fabrics are warranted for a limited period
(usually 3 to 6 years).
Motors are commonly backed by a 5 year warranty against defects
(and much less on electronic components).
Structural supports, roller bars, gear
mechanisms, and accessories are commonly warranted by similar times
(5 year warranties are particularly common).
Awning Mounting/Installation
Awning installation is a rather simple process.
It’s mainly a question of locating the structural framework and
pre-drilling the holes, and mounting...
Manufacturers can ship standard size awnings
within days, but custom-manufactured awning may demand some
weeks. Delivery also
depends on the time of the year: summer is the
busiest part of the year, which may cause longer delivery times.
