Boiler incentives and rebates

High efficiency boilers may benefit from official discounts, tax credits or special loans in countries like USA, Canada, UK or Germany. Just check the opportunities in your state. Local dealers may help you in this task.

UK

In the UK, the governmental Energy Savings Trust, through the BERR is funding the installation of boilers.

USA

In the USA, some states, are promoting pellet wood boilers and other biomass-based appliances. The state of Maine, through MESYS and its Pellet  Boiler Program, is a good example of these support programs.

Also in the USA, there are some incentives to high-efficient appliances, including several types of water heaters, between which we can consider boilers. The eligible criteria for water heater appliances is an Energy Factor >= 0.82; the tax credit amounts to 30% of the cost up to $1500, in 2009 and 2010.

Germany

The German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control also supports the installation of pellet boilers and other heating systems based on pellet (grants amount 1,500 euro or more), while KfW Förderbank offers loans to cover the investment (see also, for more information: Bafa).
