Heat Pumps Prices
Heat pumps initial investment
Prices of ground-source heat pumps are significantly
higher than those of air-source pumps.
A typical
geothermal heat pump system may cost around $2,500 per ton of
capacity, and since a typically sized home uses a three-ton
unit, the final cost may be around $7,500...
The prices of central air-source heat pumps are substantially lower:
something around $3,000-$5,000 on average for a three-ton unit (ductless mini-split
systems cost a little more...).
But these are obviously just references. You should be cautious
in this matter, since quality matters a lot.
Geothermal (ground-source) heat pumps vs air-source heat pumps
buying
Ground source heat pumps are more
energy-efficient than air heat pumps. They do not demand
supplemental electrical heaters, and they produce a lower carbon
dioxide output.
Once temperatures below ground surface are
relatively constant and above the freezing point all year round,
geothermal heat pumps may have excellent performance in any weather
conditions.
The drawbacks are on a higher investment and on the trickier installation; you
also will need some space outside/below your house for the ground
pipes...

Heat Pumps Best Buying
The best buying doesn’t correspond most of the times to low
prices. If a cheap heat pump output is insufficient to heat your
house, than the purchase price can easily be swallowed up by
higher bills.
There are many models and many manufacturers, with very
different prices. When equating offers, make sure what the
prices include.
