led lightING SOLUTIONS
LED lighting (Light Emitting Diod lighting) is more than just a promising technology. Current LEDs are more efficient than incandescent or even fluorescent lamps. But… their prices can be too high for many uses.
What are LED?
LED (Light-Emitting Diode) lights are based on the movement of electrons through a semiconductor material. LEDs are cool to the touch and only emit light in a specific direction, contrary to incandescent and fluorescent bulbs (which emit light in all directions).

Not all LED lights are equal
LED technology is experiencing fast improvements but it isn’t yet a standardized or normalized technology. And there are bad quality LED lights in the market.

LED advantages and disadvantages
LED lights present advantages over incandescent or even over fluorescents. But they aren’t cost-competitive enough for many uses.

LED light applications
Prices between $25 and $60 are common for LED night lights and small lamps. These prices make them uncompetitive for some uses.
