WINDOW and door TAX CREDITS
Energy-efficient incentives - in USA and Canada - include tax credits and rebates for new efficient windows, doors and skylights.
USA Federal Tax Credit program
The USA Federal Tax Credit program includes tax credits for energy-efficient windows and doors, though at a low level since the end of 2010. More exactly, the program includes exterior windows and skylights, storm windows, exterior doors and storm doors.
The incentive covers 10% of cost up to $500 or a specific amount from $50 - $300.

Exterior windows, skylights and doors
In the case of exterior windows, skylights and doors, their U-factor (the insulation rating) should be <=0,3 as well as their SHGC coefficient (the heat gain rating). See, for details on these values: Window Rating ##
Storm windows
Storm windows tax credit criteria varies with each climate zone and is based "on IECC in combination with the exterior window over which it is installed".
Storm doors
For storm doors the tax credit criteria is based on the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). According to Energy Star: "In combination with a wood door assigned a default U-factor by the IECC, and does not exceed the default U-factor requirement assigned to such combination by the IECC".
